Hoffmann Family of Companies is hiring Cooks to join our team at Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta, MO. As a cook, you will be responsible for food preparation and assembling dishes according to recipes and Chef’s specifications. Cooks are also responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen. Starting rate: $14-$16/hour plus gratuities. Gratuities can average between an additional $5-$14/hour and more during peak season.

Ability to read and comprehend recipes and culinary abbreviations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to follow procedures, take direction, and work as a team player
Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurement and proportions
Ability to stand for long periods of time including bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching
Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders
Follow assignments for opening and closing procedures, as well as food production
Prepare food and beverage products following recipe guidelines, using proper preparation techniques and sanitation guidelines
Set up and operate kitchen equipment
Clean equipment properly according to procedures
Keep a clean, organized, sufficiently stocked, and sanitized workstation
Work cooperatively with co-workers and management
Other duties as assigned
Note: Cooks do not perform supervisory tasks such as scheduling, discipline, performance reviews, hiring or terminations; although they may provide input to supervisors regarding such matters.
Exposure to variable temperatures depending upon the season, may work frequently in a hot, damp, or very cold environment including kitchens, walk-in coolers, outdoor venues, cellars, etc.
Hazards include but are not limited to minor cuts, slipping, and tripping
Frequent immersion of hands in water
