Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate (HCRE), part of Hoffmann Family of Companies (HF Companies), announces the sale of a portion of its downtown Naples real estate portfolio to M Development for an undisclosed price. This monumental transaction, the largest in HF Companies’ history, is a strategic move for the family equity firm.

HF Companies and the Hoffmann family remain committed to the people of Southwest Florida and will remain one of the largest employers in the region, with more than 2,000 employees. Following this transaction, HF Companies continues to own more than twenty properties in the Naples area, including ten industrial sites, Hertz Arena, Port O Call Marina, The Old Collier Golf Club, and over 1,000 acres of agricultural growing sites.

HCRE first made headlines in October 2015 with its real estate acquisitions on Fifth Avenue South. In recent years, HF Companies’ investment strategy has shifted from a primary focus on real estate to include investment in businesses across nine additional sectors: agriculture, aviation, financial services, hospitality, industrial manufacturing, marine, media & marketing, professional services, and transportation.

“We are proud of the impact we’ve made on Fifth Avenue South, a world-class destination that rivals avenues and boulevards around the world,” states Greg Hoffmann, Principal & CEO of HCRE and co-CEO of HF Companies. “While the time has come to pass the ownership torch on some of our local real estate holdings, we are committed to growing our impact through further investment in Southwest Florida businesses and will continue to maintain the ‘Hoffmann Standard’ across all our holdings.”

The HF Companies investment philosophy centers around finding good companies, properties, and people and helping make the products and services delivered even better. In 2022-2023, HF Companies made 13 investments, including Linstol, a Naples-based supplier of in-flight passenger products, and the bolt-on MNH Sustainable Cabin Services. Additional investments include Wayne Manufacturing, RMC Destination Management Company, JED Transportation, Shepler’s Mackinac Island Ferry, plus a range of hospitality, marine, and media companies.

“This transaction represents an exciting new chapter for our firm to invest in even more companies and management teams that share our values systems on culture and performance,” shares Geoff Hoffmann, co-CEO of HF Companies. “SW Florida has proven to be a world-class destination and will remain an integral part of our portfolio.”

“Naples has become our home, and we are not leaving town. Our real estate properties are very visual but a small part of our overall family investment strategy and portfolio,” states David Hoffmann, Founder and Chairman of HF Companies. “HF Companies, under Greg and Geoff’s leadership, will continue to invest in Naples and Southwest Florida through the purchase of new businesses to join the Hoffmann Family of Companies as we expand our interests.”

Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate, a part of the Hoffmann Family of Companies, has signed a definitive letter of intent to acquire 465 5th Ave South from the McCabe family, a prominent building on the corner of 5th Ave South and 5th Street.

Over 25 years ago, Phil McCabe envisioned a vibrant 5th Ave, full of shopping, dining, and entertainment, and took a risk opening the Avenue’s first hotel, The Inn on Fifth. For over two decades, the McCabe family has advanced the vision of Naples and 5th Ave South, with multiple properties, restaurants, and residences. The 465 5th Ave South building stands as an icon with high-end retail space on the Avenue, a hidden wine bar, and luxury residences above, including a rooftop deck and pool. The aesthetics and quality of the building represent McCabe’s attention to detail and dedication to furthering the vision of 5th Avenue South.

“We’re honored to be purchasing the building from the McCabes” says David Hoffmann, Chairman and Founder of the Hoffmann Family of Companies. “They took a risk investing in the area and that risk has paid off. We’re happy to be part of their continued success,” he added.

Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate is one of over 120 brands within the Hoffmann Family of Companies holdings with 47 of those located in Florida and SWFL. These include Hertz Arena and the Florida Everblades, The Old Collier Golf Club, and Old Corkscrew Golf Club, Stan’s Coffee and Food Service headquartered in Lehigh Acres, Naples Transportation & Tours, The Naples Princess, Miss Naples and Port O Call Marina, Sunmaster Inc, and Linstol, the world’s largest airline headset manufacturing headquartered in Naples to name a few. The Hoffmanns are also avid supporters of local charities and causes, having recently donated $500,000 to the Sugden Theater and $1 million to the Naples Zoo (both of which will feature the Hoffmann name), $250,000 to FGCU to further their wine lab and hospitality studies, and are supporters of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, gala sponsors of The Everglades Foundation, and major supporters of NCEF.

Most recently, the Hoffmanns announced they are acquiring the Award-winning Bleu Provence restaurant and property in Olde Naples.

“We will continue to invest in Naples and grow our portfolio of properties and businesses in Southwest Florida. We’re here for the long haul, Naples is our home.” – David Hoffmann
